Easy ways to fix PS5 from turning off

Playstation 5

PS5 is facing a lot of back lash right now because of randomly turning off in the middle of game or completely shutting down if left for few minutes.

We searched the reason behind this issue and multiple temporary solutions to solve these multiple problems.

To fix the PS5 from crashing, turn off the PS5 and hold the power button until the second beep to enter Safe mode. Then select rebuilt database. PS5 going to rest mode even for once seem to corrupt the database so after rebuilding the database turn off the rest mode in system power saving.

Keep this in mind that Rebuilding the database can take several hour depending on the data you have on your PS5.

Another thing to remember is that these issues are happening because of power and storage issues so rebuilding might not fix this problem but don’t worry we know the answer to all the problems we heard so far on Reddit and forums.

Rest Mode is the Main Culprit

That being said Rest mode is the main culprit for the majority of us. During my quest in the deep long forums, I found that many people on Reddit are having that issue.

So I dug a little deeper and found that some people’s PS5 crashes when they play games like Spiderman- Miles Morales, Godfall, COD cold war, or any other new games. But, the majority of the people faces the issue after their PS5 went into Rest Mode.

My friend also said that his PS5 started to start crashing after his PS5 went into rest mode. And after that, it often starts to crash.

Solution 1: The first thing to do is to disable the Rest Mode

Rest mode is somehow creating or at least increasing the issue which is kind of a bummer because PlayStation is and I quote “awesome because you can leave your console and hop back in to anytime from where you left”

If your console is crashing whenever it went into Rest Mode then this can be solved by making sure that PS5 don’t go into the Rest mode.

I know just leaving the PS5 in the rest mode is a handy feature and most of you love it and don’t want to disable it. But if you want to use Ps5 then you have to say Sayonara to the Rest mode until Sony fixes the issue.

Turning off the Rest mode is really easy and Here is how:

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is go to “Setting” at the Top-right corner of the Screen,

Step 2: After that Scroll down to the System and go to system.

Step 3: Go to the power setting.

Step 4: Now, select the “Set Time Until PS5 Enters Rest Mode” to Don’t put in Rest Mode.

Now all you have to do is Turn off PS5 after each use.

Seems Easy? Right??

Although, this method has worked for quite some people. It didn’t work for my friend. His PS5 is still crashing so there is a chance that it might not work for you but even if the issue is not resolved keep the rest mode disable.

Solution 2: Rebuild the database.

So this is confirmed that putting PS5 on rest mode is the main reason why the PlayStation’s newest gen is crashing.

But the thing is, even after turning off Rest mode, the screen suddenly freezes in between a game or even in-home and then hard crashes and it doesn’t turn back on.

This can be solved temporarily by rebuilding the database. It is an option in the safe mode called “Rebuild Database.”

What “rebuild database’ does is it completely deletes the database and starts creating a new database of your data from scratch which will clean every bug or corrupt database rest mode created.

I did it once on my PS4 because sudden shut down corrupted my database.

Full disclaimer, your PS5 might hard crash or already have before even going into safe mode and won’t turn back. This means it’s bricked and cannot be fixed so the best option would be to call Sony for replacement.

They are replacing the model with uncontrollable issues like PS5 bricking up and we will talk about how to get a replacement from sony later.

Steps to Rebuild the database.

Step 1: Turn off your PS5 and make sure it is completely switched off.

Step 2: Hold the power button until you hear the 2nd beep sound.

Step 3: Now you will see a message ” Connect the controller using the USB, and press the PS button.” So do that and this will boot you into Safe mode.

Step 4: Select the Rebuild Database, Rebuilding the database can take several hours depending upon the data you have so wait until it is finished.

Step 5: After the completion of that, Turn on your PS5 and turn off the Rest mode by following the above steps.

Things to keep in mind for now.

1. Don’t use External Drives.

Don’t use external drives for now, as we explained the issues might be because of storage and power.

Installing games on an external drive and playing games or using External storage, in general, is cause PS5 to crash. Players noticed this common link and someone on Twitter noticed that disconnecting the external drive solved his issue.

So don’t use an external drive, for now, this is obviously a bug and Sony will definitely fix this issue but for now, don’t use it on your PS5.

2. Don’t install or download while playing another game

It feels like I’m repeating myself now but this is true this issue is because of storage and power. I know, PS5 being the top-tier console in terms of power can’t handle installing and playing another game at once seem ridiculous but it’s somewhat true.

Installing or downloading a game while playing another game takes both storage and power which are literally the two main problems right now.

It hard crashes the PS5 and it may not even turn on again so it’s better to be safe and give all the power either to playing the game or installing it.

3. Don’t unplug the PS5.

This sound like a basic query but it isn’t, The Rest mode crash sometimes feels like the PS5 turned itself off and is not switch back on.

Because of that we try to unplug the PS5. This might brick or corrupt database of your console.

This is a very common mistake people do so keep this in mind.

It’s the CE-108225 Bypass

This one not like crashing but more like in-game issue and we told you, every quention and thier answers so here we are.

This one is an internet connection issue. CE-108225 is mostly seen by Call of Duty Cold War players. Looks like all the new games are getting affected by some sort of new bug.

This one is easy to solve, you only have to turn off the internet connection and go offline mode in cold war and turn back the internet while in-game.

Contact Sony

If none of the above methods didn’t work for you then it’s certain that either your console or controller is damaged. And it’s time for you to knock Sony service center door or you can contact them online.Opens in a new tab.

If your PS5 is in warranty and the damage is not physical then you should get a replacement for your controller or console.
