The PS5 keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi because the signal is not strong enough. Switch to a 5.0Ghz band or using a LAN cable can solve the issue. If the issue continues, then power cycling the router and PS5 will definitely solve the issue.
If the issue is still not resolved then don’t worry we have more troubleshooting steps to solve this issue.
What is causing your PS5 to disconnect from Wi-Fi?
During my quest, I found many reasons for your PS5 to disconnect from the Wi-Fi, So, Here are the most common issues:
Unstable internet connection: If the wifi signal is not strong enough then the PS5 will keep connecting and disconnecting from the Wifi, This can happen because of your ISP.
PS5 is too far away from the Router: If the router and PS5 are in different rooms then the signal strength is going to take a huge hit, the thick concrete wall can greatly affect the signal strength.
PlayStation Servers (PNS) are offline: If the Playstation servers are offline then you won’t be able to do anything.
Your Router is faulty: If the router is faulty then it won’t be able to send signal consistently, even if it able to send the signal consistently, signal strength is definitely going to take a hit.
Software issue with PS5: Having some software issue with a new generation console is not something uncommon. Many users on Reddit have a reporter that- After the recent update their PS5 keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi.
Hardware issue with PS5: If there is some issue with the PS5 hardware especially the network card, then forget about having a stable connection, you are lucky if it connects.
Some quick check-ups
How many has it been that you tried every method just to find out that your brother has changed the Wi-fi password, without telling you.
So, I say let’s do a quick check on some common things.
Make Sure your Wi-Fi network is stable: Like I have said before the unstable connection is one of the most common issues for your Wi-fi to keep disconnecting. So, before we begin with the method make sure your Internet connection is stable.
To make sure the internet connection is stable, you can check other devices that are connected to the same Wi-fi network.
Move PS5 closer to the Router: You should always keep your PS5 and router in the same room so that you don’t lose signal strength. Try shifting the router and PS5 to the same room, if you haven’t already.
Confirm the Wi-fi password: I have personally experienced this one. I changed my Wi-fi password and forgot to update my console. Then I try every method just to find out that I forget to update the password in my console.
Moral of the story- don’t forget to update Wi-fi password in your Console.
So these are all the basics. Now let get to the main thing.

Solution 3: Connecting to a 5.0ghz Wifi
I don’t think there is any need for us to discuss how good 5.0Ghz is compared to 2.4Ghz.
Wired connection is always better than a wireless connection. So, use LAN cable if possible.
During the setup of the PS5, Sony has default the 2.4Ghz, so if are connected to the same network then it’s likely that it’s a 2.4Ghz band.

To switch from a 2.4Ghz to a 5.0Ghz band, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to settings at the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Hit “X” on Networks.

Step 3: Go down to Settings inside the Networks. Make sure that connect to the internet is enabled.

Step 4: Go down to “Setup the Internet connection”, then connect to a 5.0Ghz band.
Solution 4: Changing the Router channel

Wi-fi channel is the medium through which the router the sends or receive the data.
Every router uses a particular channel to send and receive data. And if two routers follow the same channel then they are going to interfere with each other signal. Causing numerous issues. To fix this just change the channel of the router.
Changing the channel depends on the router. So, you have to either check the user manual or call your ISP if you are not sure how to change the channel.
